Modern doctrines of the church suggest that doing ANY work is to be avoided. The premise is that one can not earn their way into heaven. That is very true. Yet we must “rightly” divide the word. There are things we MUST do to access God’s salvation. Lets take a look.

Note: I am not advocating works over faith.

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to *hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
1Sa 15:22-23
*Hear give heed to
In “Answers” I asked a few more questions about the gospel, one was, is the gospel to be “obeyed?” From various sources in the bible, we find some rather pointed clues to this.

Romans 2:4-10
Or do you despise the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? But after thy hardness, (rebelliousness) and impenitent (not feeling shame or regret about one’s actions or attitudes) heart lay up treasures unto yourself; wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for:
glory and honour and immortality: eternal life:
Notice the attitude AND the reward.
But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness,

indignation and wrath,Tribulation and anguish,
upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: (again notice the attitude AND the rewards)

These verse’s are a continuation from the first chapter of Romans, where the apostle begins by saying, So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation ….. to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom 1:15-16
Note: “The” gospel. “The” is a definite article which defines “gospel” as the one, that is only gospel, the true word of God.

Later in the next chapter he refers to “obeying the truth.” So how is “the truth” and the “gospel” related?
Consider the words of Jesus in John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. This is an excerpt from the prayer of Jesus to his Father shortly before his Crucifixion. This verse among others ties the gospel to God’s word, and to Truth. The gospel IS God’s word and his word IS truth. Paul more clearly states that the gospel and the truth, are one in the same:

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.
Other apostles confirm that obedience to “the word” that is the gospel is to be accomplished.

But be you >doers of the word<, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was. But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Jas 1:22-25

Now we must put the above scriptures in context. In the first chapter of James, we see the apostle is addressing the issue of temptation and sin. Every man is drawn away by his/her lusts, and when lust is accomplished, it births sin, and sin when it has been begotten, reaps, death. This complies with the edict from the Torah and Prophets, which states, the soul that sins, it shall die.

Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sins, it shall die.

We see also from the first, this dire warning from God to Adam, And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou may freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Gen 2:16-17

The principal of first mention.
When we see some precept first mentioned in scripture, it carries the same interpretation throughout. Therefore we see the principal laid out in the first mention of the penalty for sin, that dis-obedience to the word of God carries with it the judgment of death. Now as harsh as it may seem, God was not being mean, rather he was giving warning. He understood that Satan would try to deceive mankind and lure them away from the one true God and into serving himself.
Note: God is bound to his word, that is he judged sin in Satan, he must stay true to his edict, for he is just and he is holy.
Satan is a rebellious son. He hates his Father and wants nothing more than to cause God pain. We feel that pain of the Father each and everytime we feel the conviction of sin. That is why we feel grieved for our sins. God shares his agony for our sins with us through the operation of the Holy Spirit when he convicts us of our sin. Sin is the weapon Satan uses to imprison us and hold us hostage.
Satan uses the lusts which we are subject to by way of mans fall.

  • Lust of the flesh
    Lust of the eye
    The pride of life

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1Jn 2:16
Now is the judgment of this *world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
Joh 12:31
*All that is of the world, i.e. the prince, of this world, Satan.
It is through sin that we become HIS, that is Satan’s servant and we are under his whip.
*prince, Archon, that is first, chief.
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves *servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Rom 6:16
*Servant: doulos, slave, to serve, subject to.
By sin Satan seduces us away from our Father in heaven who grieves each time we fall into sin. Satan knows he can not defeat God, but he does know that by destroying we who are the very image of God will cause the Father pain.
Let us all think on that very thing when we contemplate sinning.
We are being USED to hurt our Father in heaven, who so loves us, he sent his son, manifested in the flesh and endured the cruel whip, the nails and mocking on the cross, so that YOU and I could escape the ultimate terrorist, Satan and not be lost forever.
We read that after the fall of man, God instituted a means of salvation. We find it in the story concerning Abel and Cain.
At some point in time we see they both came to make offering to the Lord. Able brought of his flocks and made sacrifice, Cain brought of his gardens. Cain’s offering was rejected by God and Cain was wroth. He blamed Able for this. First question is why was his offering rejected? When Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden of Eden, God made coats for them to hide their nakedness. Nakedness had now become the symbol of sin. Remember the principal of first mention. For when they first sinned, the first thing they noticed was they were naked. To make the coats for their covering, God had to slay an innocent animal, most likely a sheep to cover them. This covering was a type signifying the blood that would be shed for all people to cover their sins, through Jesus.
Again, the principal of first mention.

Therefore it is evident that on the occasion that people made sacrifice or offering to God in remembrance of the original sin and their being born into sin, they made this offering. It was that blood had to be shed for the remission of that sin.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Psa 51:5
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Heb 9:22
In the Torah, we find these principals instituted. These also pointed to the Messiah which would come, who was to become the more perfect sacrifice. So we see that Cain offered unto God the works of his hands, while Able offered to God that which God had provided.

The lesson here is that salvation can not be by the works or labor of our hands, it must be by the Grace, i.e. The mercy and provision of God himself.

This is why understanding the gospel of John 3 is so important. God sent HIS only begotten Son to be that sacrifice. It is the grace by way of the provision of God himself. Remember the words of Abram as he took Issac to the top of mount Moriah, “God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering:. How true these words which showed the purpose of the coming Messiah.
Lets continue.
2Th 1:7-8
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that

>obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that

>obey not the gospel of God?

Even absent of the preceding verses I mentioned earlier, these two alone should capture our attention. For here we have in no uncertain terms the truth. The gospel must be obeyed. Those who do not will suffer. If God would come down as he did and endure the horror of the cross, should we not be obedient to the cross and its message, the gospel?

Next: Gods provision for salvation. His plan revealed from the beginning.
In the next post, we will look at the tabernacle in the wilderness as a pattern for God’s plan to redeem his creation.

I intended to post this earlier. With the recent events in Paris, and the continuing racial violence here in this country that is being ignored by the corporate media “machine”, I thought it good to go ahead and post this.

You my friend are a puppet. Most of your life you have been programmed like a computer. The machine has loaded into you the malware and wound you up like a tiny tin soldier and let you run, Once you’ve reached a certain stage of maturity, the program is initiated and you will execute your programming in the sociatial environment in which you inhabit.

Welcome to the machine.

Welcome my son
Welcome to the machine

Where have you been?
It’s alright we know where you’ve been

You’ve been in the pipeline
Filling in time
Provided with toys and scouting for boys
You brought a guitar to punish your ma

And you didn’t like school
And you know you’re nobody’s fool
So welcome to the machine

Welcome my son
Welcome to the machine

What did you dream?
It’s alright we told you what to dream
For the last generation, from about 1977 (Jimmy Carter), the programming has been initiated, the beta testing complete. We think we have individual concepts and ideas. We hold to “these truths.” Lie. We all are products of the insipid code. We have nether truth or freedoms. As we see in the reports that eek out of the media from time to time, anyone who is a “free thinker,” is a threat to the “security” of the homeland, as it is so Orwelleanishly called. Those who have strayed outside of the programming, and do not execute our code faithfully are called free thinkers. While you may see that term to represent the concept of being enlightened, the machine sees you as rouge. The machine will execute its security routines to purge or quarantine you.

Lets take a look at the here and now. Recently, the people spoke with a clear voice by giving the Republican party a larger majority in the house of Representatives, and control of the Senate. The first thing this party did was to pass a 1.1 trillion dollar budget which gives the POTUS the funding he needs to further his vision of a “fundamentally transformed America.” The electorate went ballistic. There has been a write your congressman campaign to oust the speaker of the house, John Bohener. With over 500,000 letters poised to descend on the house for EACH Representative, the idea is to show the reps. That “we the people” have had enough and want the GOP to stand true to its promises to oppose the POTUS’S agenda of the “change” he is implementing. This did not happen. Congress is hacked off at the electorate. Even if the speaker had been replaced, it would have been with another “establishment” faithful. What the people do not realize is the stone is cast and the new world vision WILL be instituted.

Early in the new administrations tenure, the house and the senate were controlled by the democrat party. Their sole agenda was not to restart the economy or regain the jobs lost. As we have seen, as time went on the jobless numbers went down. Why? It wasn’t because there were more jobs, contrary it was because people fell out of the job market. There weren’t any jobs to be had. Here is a reason why. Since 2011, ALL job growth has gone to immigrants, ALL of them. There has not been one job created for the American citizen, not one.

When the GOP was locked out of the conferences on the new healthcare bill, they were being told, you can not be trusted to follow the prescribed program. Since then, the grand old party has moved to quash the voices of the conservative members. The leadership knows that if they do not prove themselves “worthy” they will not have a place at the table in the Novus ordo seclorum.” Thus they are not about to let their place at the round table be threatened.
What is crazy is that those most affected by this are not up in arms about it. Instead, they have executed their programming. They rail against the police, “whitey” and the administration now trots out the likes of “Reverend” Al Sharpton. A man dedicated to the propagation of racial hatred, not just for profit, but because this man has a deep hatred of the white race.

The pure and simple fact is, most crime in America is committed by black men. This is a direct result of institutionalization. Let me explain.
People who are in prison for long periods of time become what is referred to as “institutionalized.” They become dependent on those walls and bars, they no longer see them as a barrier to freedom and liberty, but as protection. They become accustomed to the security, the routine, the structure. They know when they are going to eat, when they are going to work, and when they are going to sleep. It provides for them a security they didn’t have in normal life. Once they do get out of prison they are overwhelmed by the lack of structure and the responsibility of making their own decisions.

Welfare in this country has had the same effect. Now large segments of our country (over 92 million) have become dependent on the structure that the system provides. One does not have to worry about working, or making the decision of where to live, they are told where they can live. They know on a certain date the check will come, all they have to do is cash it. The system provides the lunches and breakfast at school, at dinner you only have to pop in a store bought pizza and in a few minutes plop it down on the table. Don’t worry about your kids, the machine will educated them and tell them what to think. If your daughter gets pregnant, not to worry, she can either get an abortion or keep it and you get more money, at least until she turns 18, then she has to move out. That is how the machine programs a person. If you are a man, then your luck is not so good. You have to live with the woman on the sly or move from woman to woman to have a place to lay your head if your over 18. Since the system does not promote education, you don’t have one and your job prospects never where good. By design you turn to peddling and using drugs. You get involved in a gang, a brotherhood, a family in the sense that you feel kinship and a sense of belonging. In no time you are in and out of jail and prison. Now you become deeply institutionalized. You become dependent on the largess of the machine. You become a good little robot and do what the machine tells you, think what the machine tells you, act according to your programming. You just think you are free. You are a programmed robot.

The system pits you against the “other guy.” If you are white, the same applies, you rail against the “free loaders”, not realizing these people are slaves. They have been sold out and programmed to be depressed, and have no hope. So when a person of color comes around and talks about hope and change and “yes we can,” they believe.

While all of this is going on, both the whites and blacks are being replaced by illegal immigrants. All the money that they do earn goes to pay for the illegals care and feeding. You are being replaced. Latino’s are led to believe they are the darlings of the political class and push for all the benefits of citizenship. Little do they know, they are the next slaves to the machine.

Soon the next phase of the master program will be executed. Marshall law. Why, these people need to be controlled, they attack the police, the police see now the people as the enemy. What we do not realize, is the police very well could be the last line of defense against the onslaught of oppression.

We are a house divided. Jesus said, a house divided against itself can not stand. When we build on the shifting sand of government dependence, we fall. Unless we shake off the programming of hatred and variance,

The finger hovers above the execute key

Last post I asked four simple questions.

>What does the gospel of John 3:16 say
>Who said it
>What does it mean
>What is the gospel (chapter and verse).

The reason I have asked these questions is because over the years I have observed first hand the decline in the spiritual temperature of the church. Meaning the understanding of scripture is a lost art.

I get a lot of belching of verses to defend some dogma not related to the gospel, which is the lamp to our feet, and lights the path to salvation. If we do not understand the very basics, the milk of the word, how can we walk in the paths of righteousness? How can we truly obtain to salvation?

I am going to answer these questions. If you have not read the original post, go to it now then come back and read the answers.
I truly believe if you understand where you stand in your basic knowledge of the gospel you will be better off. We are warned to be proficient in the word.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Ti 2:15
In the very next verse, Paul admonishes: But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
2Ti 2:16

The point here is that arguments tend towards “babbling.” In other words, arguments of things not relevant to salvation or the gospel, i.e. the nature of the “Godhead,” the “essence of Christ,” et al lead to division and confusion. God will reveal himself to us as he sees fit. Now these subjects may be interesting or have some small measure of merit, however, focusing on these topics tends to division and takes away from the weightier matters of study and understanding the gospel and Godly living. These topics became the object of maximum debate in the early history of the church soon after the Judaism movement promoted by the Pharisees which had “converted”. We even see this today, where a so called true believer must dress like a “Jew” act like a “Jew” and worship like a “Jew.” The Messianic movement is driven by the modern day Pharisee.  I will address this issue at a later time.
There are even those who rail against the Pharisaic rituals in the Messianic movement, yet have their own “Jewish” customs. Brothers and sisters, those of us who are Gentiles, are under N O obligation to become Jewish.

I had a friend who has become so wrapped up in this movement, he wears all the garb of the Pharisee and teaches as does the Rabbi in a synagogue. Back in the day, we both were in the ministry together. He has a very large following, in the thousands. I do not, and I don’t care. My ministry is to teach truth and to help the needy, and I do that.
I have observed that if you want a large following and make a lot of money, all you have to do is promote the latest and greatest dogma and advertise on facebook, put up a website hawking someones books and salt it with one or two of your own, vomiting out the same dogma. I refuse to prostitute myself. If I live in rags, then better to live poor in this world then obtain riches with my precious Lord.

1.John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
*Emphasis mine.

2.Jesus. He was speaking to Nicodemus.

3.The following verses which Jesus speaks gives us a hint into the meaning of the verse in question.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of *the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 3:17-21

*Many new translations have changed the wording here or eliminated it all together.

4.Meaning. These verses ARE the cornerstone of the gospel. This is the fulfillment of the promise given to our mother Eve by God as he spoke to the serpent:
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Gen 3:15

5.What is the gospel? Remember I needed chapter and verse which clearly states it.
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,

>how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
>And that he was buried,
>and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
1Co 15:1-4
*Emphasis mine.

Now, here is the final exam questions.

Do we obey the gospel? Chapter and verse.

Explain your answer.

Carefully consider your answer. Do NOT parrot some teaching from what you have heard.
Look to the scriptures. What does the bible say?

Do you understand the gospel? Where does it come from? In other words, what is its ancestry?
